And a thank you...

to Jill of the GDR - I've been trying to find a way to get updates about Jenn to the official race blog but couldn't - so I'm glad she managed to find us and get news up on their site. Jenn had no idea that so many people were rooting for her and the support that's coming is is doing her as much good as those damn horse pills.

And big thanks to everyone that has left messages - they get read out to Jenn until warp factor sniffle is reached... frankly I'm just regarding it as payback for all that weeping I've done at 24 hour races. And you'd better have the hug and little note that goes with it Jenn - remember, you know how to do this. And sorry I didn't loan a guardian angel that was bacteria literate...

I'm getting an unhealthy obsession with checking this website now as well as the official GDR one. It's not right for a bloke to be on girls clothing website this much :O)

Oh sit down and have a coffee while we constantly ask you if our bum looks big in this......

Tim, I've been thinking exactly the same. :)

Must try and not check for updates until tomorrow now...though the suspense is killing me.

Jenn - keep going. Do it in your own time. Honestly, it must nearly all be downhill from now on in? :)

Best

Tom

Hanging out with Jenn before the race was great fun but once the race started I quickly became a fan when I saw how she was able to keep pushing herself day after day. She was unstoppable. I hope she can bounce back from the illness. I had some problems with the antibiotics they gave me. When I was in the hospital and they were giving me Cipro I watched a news item about a warning that Cipro and antibiotics like it may cause tendon tearing. It did not my depressed state of mind.
One of the nicest moments of my GDR was talking with Jenn at a Coffee shop in Rawlings waiting for our pastries. For a little while the race disappeared and I remembered what real life was like again.

Hang in there Jenn, I've had giardia (when I lived in New Zealand) it's fierce and played havoc with my body, but I know that mentally you can over come it and get those amazing legs pedaling again.

Every time I ride my bike I think of you, your simply ace.

Can't wait to see you when your back and go for a gentle ride and Morocco's to finish :0)

Hi Jenn,

We're all behind you here. Apart from the guys in the UK, there's the whole of the English speaking staff at Trek globally; so that's the Europeans then! Sorry US cousins, just joking, I know you guys are rooting for Jenn too. I'm sorry to read you're unwell, I hope you're feeling better soon but take it steady. It's a legendary story so far and I can't wait to read the book! (or watch the film!!). Lots of good vibes heading your way, from Griff and Trek.

If and when you get a forwarding address over there put in a cake order and I'll get baking; DHL muffins! :^P

This site has been seen so often on my machine that I'm now a suspected cross-dresser in the office. So Debbie, about those skorts...

Keep on pedaling, love - be sure to know that as you are, we're all thinking of you - especially those times when we're riding too - like a virtual peleton around you.

Jenn,

There's not much at Antelope Wells, but I heard there might be cake. Giardia is a menace. Break through it and keep riding - you deserve a finish.

OOh Giardia is awful. I just gave our local boyscouts a lecture about avoiding it.

I hope you are well soon, good luck to you.

Did someone say 'classic Minx racing top'? Please, do tell.

It's the jersey Jenn wears with polka dot sleeves and winged hearts all over it....

Charting your meteoric progress on the wall on a mahoosive map of the USofA with a little pic of you on blu-tack! Riding, drinking (funny) tea, baking/eating cake, cleaning bikes (all the jenn-things I guess?) remind me of you and how its going out there.
Keep on plugging away; I KNOW you've got a big enough stubborn streak to finish it off!

Lots of Love,
Your (hugely proud) little bro

Come on girl. I've been ill in bed all day but had to drag myself out to check how you're doing. You're inspiring everyone. Keep the faith and beat the miserable bug round it's ugly head with a chocolate muffin.

Whoop.

Oh fantastic - what it is with your family that you always have to make me cry? Nice to meet you Rob:-)

I'm going to be lost without checking into the Minx blog (several) times a day.

Loving Dean's line about a virtual peloton around you.

I met Stephen Roach tonight, what a legend.

Anyway, I truly hope your back on form Jenn and can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and hope that you'll want to eat cake when you get to Antelope Wells!

Hello,

I'm Simon Kennett's mother-in-law. Can you please let Jenn know how sorry I am that she is sick. Hope she is on the mend, and is going to finish, hard though it may be. I have been impressed at the way Jenn has been going, and was always happy to know that Simon was riding with her.

hey,
like big bro, i seem to have spent most of the last week staring at that really huge map taking up half the wall - it's an amazing feat, and it's been really great to hear from you through the call-ins and phone calls.
it's also been wonderful reading these messages, and seeing the support in this community from people all over the world, so thanks to all of you!
now Jenn - KEEP PEDALLING! turn that stubborn streak (rob mentioned it first!) to those damn miles, and storm across the finish.
oh, and listen out for the cheering, i'm sure you'll hear it...

love & lots of hugs,
your even hugely prouder little sis,
cal

Pauline,
Feel free to call into the comment line at 888-866-4491 if you want to say anything about Jen. Just identify yourself so we can differentiate your call from the racers, it's fine. Jen hasn't been able to call in so we'd love any information you can give. Thanks!

Thanks Joe, I'll forward this via email to Pauline as well

Hi It's Pauline! I have just responded to Joe's message above. The only new thing to say is that we havn't had a phone call from Jenn this evening. I have called Abiquiu Inn and although it was a rather confused call it seems she has checked out and so it seems like she's on the route again! Hopefully she'll pop up soon when we're least expecting it and leave a typical Jenn call-in!!

Go. Jenn.

I had homemade lemon meringue pie at the Fisk house the other day and thought you'd probably have liked it.

I had lemon sponge at Sideways a few days later while building SteveM's new bike and thought you would have enjoyed that setting.

I had some cake at Llandegla yesterday after riding and thought about a time in the past at a trail center when we all had cake post-ride.

Cake is good. Kill the bugs and have more cake.
